Establishment of Taighde Éireann - Research Ireland
Research Ireland was established on 1st August 2024, following an amalgamation of Science Foundation Ireland (SFI) and the Irish Research Council (IRC). Research Ireland is an agency of the Department of Further and Higher Education, Research Innovation and Science working in collaboration with higher education institutions and other state agencies such as the Higher Education Authority (HEA), IDA Ireland and Enterprise Ireland.
Enterprise Ireland is the government organisation responsible for the development and growth of Irish enterprises in world markets. They provide support for both companies and researchers in Higher Education Institutes to develop new technologies and processes that will lead to job creation and increased exports.
The Health research board provides funding to people at different stages of their careers who carry out high quality, innovative health research.
